Local Events are a window into the diverse culture of the Margaret River community. Margaret River's cultural celebrations; festivals and events are interwoven with its diverse weather patterns and mediterrean style climate.   Warm balmy summer days are the perfect backdrop for the multitude of outdoor concerts and surfing events; autumn brings vintage,  farmers markets, long, lazy peaceful afternoons as harvest gets underway; the fresh spring winds heralds  a renewal on the land on sea - bushwalking, wildflowers and the ground becomes a kaleidoscope of colour and beauty. And then, of course, there is winter. The highlight new event on the winter calendar this year, Margaret River Readers and Writers Inaugural Festival, right the cusp of  winter, very fittingly told the world that it was  time to curl up by a log fire, enjoy an escape weekend and hibernate with a great book down south.
